It's one thing when you lose a fight against a great UFC middleweight like Anderson Silva. It's another thing when you're simply disappointed in your effort against him.
"I feel a little bit differently about this fight ( against Anderson Silva ) than I did against Quinton Jackson after the fight," Dan Henderson told Inside MMA. "I lost against Quinton, but I felt like I fought well. . . But I just feel like I didn't fight well at all against Anderson Silva."
We're talking about pretty much uncharted waters here for Dan Henderson. After all, leading into his fight against The Spider, Henderson had been in pretty much every bout he'd ever fought in. Said another way, he'd won 10 of his last 13 fights and had only been stopped once during that streak by Antonio Rogerio Nogueira via submission at the 8:05 mark of round one back on April 26, 2005. What's more, he'd been on top for some of that bout attempting the ground and pound he's become so known for.
But now this. A pretty non descript first round where Henderson found himself on top without doing much damage. And then a second round where he was wholly dominated.

"I just got away from the game plan," he said. Thus, for the first time since 2002 the former Olympic wrestler must get back on the horse after two consecutive losses. How does one do that?
In his customary few words style, Henderson simply indicates "it's one of those mistakes that I need to learn from."
Enough said. Dan Henderson, one of the better mixed martial arts fighters of this generation, will be back. He's too good not to be.
